Kevin Chong Man-chung is the CEO and co-founder of Arkist Cinematic, and a undergraduate of Film and Television, majoring in Cinematography at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

Possessing unique interdisciplinary talents, Kevin Chong began exploring various art forms from the age of five and has received accolades across short film production, music, and business. Among his honors are a finalist from the 25th ifva Awards hosted by the Hong Kong Arts Centre, Honourable mentions in Tokyo Film Awards as the Director of Photography and Colourist for Journey (2022), Distinction in ABRSM Violin Grade 8 at 13 years old and a third-place finish in the JA Hong Kong Business Competition.

Kevin believes that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can become an outstanding creator. He is committed to promoting arts education, having taught filmmaking and creative arts at NGOs such as Po Leung Kuk Elderly Centre and SKH Bishop Baker Secondary School.

During his academic years, Kevin provided services for prominent organizations and companies. He edited programs for RTHK Radio 4, interned as an advertising production assistant at Hong Kong’s leading post-production company Touches Ltd. and as a marketing intern at Marks & Spencer HK. Additionally, he worked with various media outlets including Initium Media and Vogue as a photography intern and assistant.

Kevin is enthusiastic in learning philosophical theory after school, from Lacan and Žižek. He sees cinematography and film as more than mere visual documentation, it's an emotional and philosophical exploration aimed at uncovering intangible truths. Kevin's fascination with artists like Bach, Ichiko Aoba, and filmmakers such as Jean-Luc Godard, Wong Kar-Wai, and Wes Anderson further highlights his appreciation for structured beauty, emotional authenticity, and meticulous craftsmanship. This intellectual curiosity shapes his approach, prompting him to constantly question conventional artistic boundaries, strive for innovative forms of expression and express with authenticity.
